phir bhi dil hai
i knew it would be a tight day for me as i was supposed to get up at around 5.30 am after attending a blunt abdomen injury yesterday late night till 1.00 am. i woke up at 6 am , late by half hour. Taxidriver [i prefer taxi now a days if i have to travel long distance]had already come . Got ready in 20 min, went to my hospital to pick up an instrument , had a delay of another 5 min due to bad roads, and then had to hold at petrol pump to fill in the diesel. However there was no one to attend to the taxi even though the pump station was open. We waited for another five min . i was all fuming inside as we had to travel 80 kms in an hour for a surgery and time was crucial for me as the entire team would be waiting there for me . As we left the petrol pump i decided that when i get back from the work i will be lodging a formal complaint about the callous attitude of the attendent who was absent from the duty in the early morning. i saw the attendent going back to the pump station as we were driving off. He was a old man , maybe in his sixties ,was walking with some difficulty . i know work is work , and there are no excuses even for an old man and this lack off efficiency is infact costing the country everywhere and hitting us hardly. i also know that if i let go, the problem is going to get worse but i could not possibly hit the man and his family by complaining,as i know if the man was working in his old age , how much his family would be dependent on him and my complaint could hit all of them badly. The complaint would be a just thing to do for the callousness but ........may be i was wrong but may be i was right . i decided to go with the heart.
