Lonely women

As i was returning from the village after operation and turned on the f.m to tune into my favourite radio jockey , i heard her asking the listeners to help out a female in her forties who despite having family -husband and childrens, is left alone in the house all by herself,- husband too busy in his work and childrens having no time for her . i thought that this is a familiar situation in which my mother was,- when i was busy doing my medical study for nine long years , my sister persuing a career as an advocate and my brother already settled with his family somewhere else. my father as always was too busy  to even remain in the house for the whole month . the house with a garden in front and in the back was so huge that when i had to spent a day in the house all alone , i could not sleep and the whole night i could hear the sounds of the sea waves and the animals . my mother at around the age of fortyfive decided to do something about the situation she found herself in . before marriage she was a school principal in her town in U.P but that was around 25 years back and she now , in order to take up teaching job had to pass b.ed and for that she had to first learn gujrati from the scratch and then study to pass the exams . she did all that by herself and passed the exams in a different language with distinction. she appeared for the interview and got selected for  the post she had applied for . the school she was to teach was a C.B.SE board with english medium [ the school in which i studied ] and since two years they had started the hindi medium section as well to cater to many weak students ,but the results were disappointing  and the pass percentage was hardly five percent . my mother got into the task of improving the standard of the students and after one year , it was all magic - pass percentage 90% due to her sheer hard work and dedication . she remained teacher for around six years till we shifted from the place as i completed my study and she always had a result of around 95% . we are all proud of her.
