Party /and feeding
The other day we , a bunch of doctor families from the old hospital , got together at a colleagues clubhouse . There were 7 families and around 20 members including the kids . It was quite fun and although we had kept certain games to entertain ourselves , most of the time went in gossiping and eating food. The menu selected consisted mainly of starters , cooked in tandoor by the special cook we had arranged for the evening . First was tandoori paneer seekh kabab followed by tandoori bharva aloo , tandoori stuffed naan, tandoori angoori paneer seekh kabab and last but not the least tandoori kababs. This went on for two hours , after which the main course was served. It was all very very delicious and everybody enjoyed it but the fact is , i have seen that we ,the doctor community in general, have very less stomach capacity and not surprisingly i found that we had consumed only 60% of the total and the rest was going to go waste just like that. Usually on such occasions as we all feel embarrased to let go such huge amount of food go waste , no body goes on to check for left over . However the guilt was too much for me , so keeping aside my inhibitions i went to the cook's team and requested them to pack all the remaining food [after their team and the watchman had eaten] and give it to me . Everybody went off to their home but i stayed put with my family , despite feeling a bit odd, to collect the food . I know where most of the begger childrens and old people sleep , so i went there and distributed the food. Actually one of our net friends had posted quite a time back , about an organisation which collect the left over party food and give it to the small childrens . UnFORTUNATELY, DUE TO MY CARELESSNESS, i have lost that number . I made an appeal to our popular F.M. channel to spread awareness about trying a bit to disperse the party food amongst the hungry poor people which otherwise goes waste . And i appeal to my friend on net if he/she happens to read my blog , kindly post me that piece of information. I would be grateful.
